Minnie Lee Pryor Sanders, affectionately known as “Brown”, was born to the late Richard Pryor and Harriett Matthews Pryor on July 6, 1931 in Limestone County, Alabama. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at her home in Huntsville, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by five siblings: Charlie Pryor, Caroline Pryor, Emma Pryor Oliver, Ophelia Pryor Moore, and Sylvia Pryor Fletcher.
In September of 1963, she confessed hope in Christ and joined Phillips Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor James Townsend. In September 2010, she moved her membership and was a faithful member of Keilah Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Charley Humphrey, III.
She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted daughters: Annie Sanders and Lois Jackson (Robert) both of Huntsville, Alabama; three loving sons: Nathaniel Sanders (Linda) of Huntsville, Alabama, Jerry Walton (Debra) of Lithonia, Georgia, and Clyde Walton of Corona, California; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Thornton “Peter” Pryor of Madison, Alabama; two sisters, Dorothy White of Huntsville, Alabama, and Mandella Shoulders of Athens, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Saint Mark Baptist Church (6475 Moores Mill Road; Huntsville, AL 35811) with Reverend Charley Humphrey, III officiating. Interment will be in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. Ms. Sanders will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
A visitation with family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
Public viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013; and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Royal Funeral Home.
